And so we come to the second episode of this beautiful rubric which allows us to find out what tennis players think about their constant travel around the world.
This time we did an exclusive interview to young italian rising star Jessica Pieri. Jessica was born on 04/27/1997 and , despite of some injuries which delayed the start of her pro career, in less than two years has improved constantly her Wta ranking reaching in last August her best at 294th position. For this reason she has considered by experts one of the best prospects of the italian women’s tennis movement, a movement that in last years has achieved unprecedented results with Francesca Schiavone, Flavia Pennetta, Roberta Vinci and Sara Errani and which hopes to find in her a possible future star.
Jessica, how many years are you wandering the world to play tennis tournaments ?
I start to play when I was very young but then for an injury I was still for about two years. Now after injury i have started to play again and to go around consistently for about half a year.
Are you able to enjoy and visit the tourist attractions of places where you play tournaments ?
Usually I dedicate half day time to walk around, but often it happens that I use this free time to rest rather than to visit.
What is the most beautiful place or town did you discover playing tennis?
The most beautiful towns I visited are London and New York. Pheraps I prefer London because I think it’s amazing as a whole while New York gets some breathtaking places but for the remaining part is a normal town.
What is the most beautiful place of Italy that you would suggest to visit right now?
Undoubtely Rome and Venice.
In last months you played in many different nations like China, Japan and Germany. Would you like to live in one of these countries?
Noooo. 😂 To live in China and Japan absolutely not. Instead I like Germany. I have been in some small towns which are cute and well kept.
Last questions are just about tennis. What is your goal for these last months of 2016 and what is your tennis dream?
Surely my goal for this year is continue to improve and try to take a step up and play tournaments with an higher money prize. And for the end of the year I would like to be in the top 300 Wta ranking. My dream is to make of tennis my job, to become a professional tennis player and live on it.
Many thanks Jessica and good luck for tomorrow semifinal in Mamaia.
